ACS/Manufacturing
Design, prototyping, testing, and production under one engagement.
From a simple two-connector jumper to full electromechanical assemblies and control box builds, ACS Direct manufactures to your print. Every technical decision routes through people who have built harnesses for a living, on high and low volume alike.
Both shores, one point of accountability.
High-volume runs through our factories in Taiwan, China, and Thailand. Domestic contract manufacturing in Grand Rapids for quick-turn and stateside work. One partner, both shores.

Thirty years on the factory floor.
Production in Taiwan, China, and Thailand goes back 30 years. Documented processes govern the build, terminal cross-section analysis measures crimp quality against IPC/WHMA-A-620, and every completed assembly is electrically tested for continuity, shorts, and miswires before it ships.

Machine shop
Custom tooling, made for the part.
Our factory machine shop produces custom-made molds, dies, and tooling for parts that standard solutions cannot address. Design, tooling, molding, and production stay under one manufacturing program.
See overmolding and toolingFour steps from quote to production.
Every quote, print, sample, and production run is managed through the same factory network. You approve each key milestone.
- 01
One all-in quote
Send a part number or a print. We return one number that includes product, freight, tariffs, and QC, plus lead time.
You accept the quote.
- 02
A print you sign
An ACS-controlled print of your assembly: connectors, pinout, lengths, labeling, packaging. It becomes the build standard.
You sign the print.
- 03
Production-ready samples
Built using the same tooling, line, and process as production. Evaluating the sample is validating production.
You approve the samples.
- 04
Full production
Certified process discipline, 100% electrical testing. We manage freight, customs, and tariff paperwork.
No checkpoint needed. That is the point.
Measured, inspected, and tested before shipment.
Documented process control governs every build. Electrical release testing applies to every assembly. RF, dimensional, material, mechanical, and environmental methods are applied according to the requirements of the part and program.
Electrical release test on every assembly
Every completed assembly is tested for continuity, shorts, and miswires before it is cleared to ship.

Certification and recognition scope varies by facility and product program. Current certificates and scope documentation are available on request. UL Recognition shown here covers wiring harnesses and processed wire. Finished-product listing can be scoped when a program requires it.
Test and inspection capability
08Electrical and signal integrity
- Keysight RF network analyzers
- 20 GHz and 67 GHz capability for signal integrity testing on high-frequency assemblies.
Crimp, material, and dimensional inspection
- Terminal cross-section analysis
- Crimps are sectioned and measured against IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance criteria.
- CCD optical inspection
- Verifies terminal seating, orientation, and completeness.
- XRF material verification
- Confirms plating and alloy composition and supports RoHS screening.
- 2.5D optical measurement
- Verifies dimensions against the print.
Environmental and life testing
- Salt spray chamber
- Tests corrosion resistance.
- Bend and flex cycle testing
- Evaluates cable life in continuous-flex applications.
- Thermal aging and temperature/humidity cycling
- Supports accelerated life testing.

Flexible fulfillment that cuts your inventory cost without sacrificing price or availability. Name the program that fits your demand.
Blanket Orders
Place a blanket order, typically 12 months, and we build the entire lot up front, stock it in Grand Rapids, and release it on your schedule. Pricing is locked because your product is already made: no material surcharges, no requotes.
Vendor-Managed Inventory
We monitor consumption and keep the shelf stocked so you never scramble for a critical part. You set the min/max; we handle replenishment and the paperwork.
Consignment
Hold ACS Direct inventory on your floor and pay only as you pull it. Domestic stock, domestic lead times, and no working capital tied up on a boat.
Kitting
Assemblies, hardware, and components combined into a single line item, labeled and sequenced to your build, so your team opens one box, not ten.
Aftermarket & EOL Support
Long-term supply for mature and end-of-life programs, including drop-in replacements for parts your original supplier has discontinued.
